What are the reference books for Telangana - TSPSC Group 2 exam?

From previous post we now know what to read and how to plan the syllabus, let’s go through BOOKS that we can refer for TSPSC Group 2 exams. I will provide you books that are contemporary and easy to get in the market and would request you to not read everything and anything that comes in your way.

We have a perception that a friend or classmate buys a book from the market is considered as a standard or relevant book for Group 2 syllabus, I will put forth few books that would help you in covering most of the syllabus of TSPSC Group 2.

As you know we have 4 papers for TSPSC Group 2

Let’s start with

Paper 1 – General Studies and General Abilities
·         Daily Newspaper – The Hindu for Current affairs, International Relations and Events as well as Science and technology.
·         Read NCERT or SCERT books class 6th to class 10th for Disaster Management, Environmental Issues, and Basic English and also for History and Cultural heritage of India.
·         Policies of Telangana state- Read from newspapers or we can get book from market on policies if not go through their website for a specific policy.
·         Modern approach to logical Reasoning – by R.S. Aggarwal
·         Oxford Student Atlas for India (they have added telangana details as well) or Telangana geography – from Telugu Akademi

Paper 2 – History, Polity and Society
Socio-Cultural History of India and Telangana:
·         India’s Struggle for Independence – by Bipin Chandra
·         Telangana History – Intermediate 2nd year book – by Telugu Akademi

Polity:
·         Indian Polity – by laxmikanth

Society:
·         Indian Social Issues and Indian Social System – by Ram Ahuja

Paper 3 – Economy and Development
·         Indian Economy – by Ramesh Singh, information about NITI Aayog you can visit their website or you can Google to know more about it.

·         50 years of AP – by Vittal and Swaminathan
·         Census Surveys and CRIDA Research papers, also read Economic Survey report for India and Socio-Economic Survey Outlook for year 2016 of Telangana - Socio-Economic Outlook Survey of Telangana-2016
·         We don’t have much of books available in the market for English medium, will update more for this section please follow the blog to know more about Economy books.

Paper 4 – Telangana Movement and State Formation
·         Telangana State A Demand – by Prof. Jaya Shankar Sir..

·         Telangana Rashtrodhyam - by Prof. Kodanda Ram Sir

·         Telangana udhyamam – By V Prakash
·         Telangana Sayudha Poratam – by Telugu Akademi (If you have time read this)

I would update if we have any new relevant book is released in the market, other than these books it is better to pick one book for each paper of any of the good lecturers from any of the competitive coaching institutes.

Other than books you have to read English newspaper (preferably “The Hindu”) and a Telugu newspaper, follow Kurukshetra and Yojana magazines as well as India 2016 – Year book published by Govt of India.
